The heavy controversy surrounding the Pakistan People’s Party’s alleged removal of the Quaid-e-Azam’s pictures from the President’s House has proved to be a large blow to the PPP’s falling reputation.

In response to the allegations,  mentioned by DiscoMaulvi in this post, Farhatullah Babar, the Spokesperson for the President House has tried to justify the reason(s) behind the absence of the Quaid in the photo in the following letter to The News’.

The News' 2nd July 2009: Letters to the Editor

Mr. Babar states that the allegations “are nothing but lies and slander” and that according to standard protocol Quaid-e-Azam’s photos are hanged at “all significant places” inside the Aiwan-e-Sadr. He goes on to mention the places in which these photos are hanged and names the people who made the allegations as “Bhutto-haters who are frustrated over their striding national political scene”.

I personally feel that Farhatullah Babar has not fully justified the reason behind the very existence of the fact that there was no Quaid-e-Azam in the photo taken inside the Presidency with the national cricket team.

EDIT: In today’s The News’ Letters to the Editor section, two citizens replied to Farhatullah’s letter. The basic gist of the letter(1) was: Why is Bilawal’s photo, who has not served the country in any shape or form, hanged inside the room.

And of course, the basic message of letter(2) was: “If Quaid-e-Azam’s photos are hanged in all significant places, was the area where the photo of the team was taken a ‘less significant’ place?
