1. As a source of energy

Since sunlight is naturally abundant throughout almost all of the world, solar energy is labeled as the electricity generating method of the future for a simple reason: it’s sustainable. Solar energy is obtained by converting sunlight into electricity.

For the moment being, building solar power plants is very expensive. Which is why most countries still rely on old methods to generate electricity.
