Salt 'n' Pepper: Golden Lotus
Buffets. How we Lahoris – people who eat more for the quantity than the quality (no offence) – love them. The very thought of paying a flat fee and then eating all we want is enough to get even the youngest of tongues drooling in anticipation. What really happens is that we get fleeced.
Read more after the break.
It’s the flat fee that kills us. Restaurant-owner’s take the bling out of our pockets by making the consumer think: “Oh meray Allah! Only 499Rs. I can eat all I possibly can!? *faints*!
Once we get to the eating fest’, we eat considerably less compared to how much we think of doing so. Mainly because:
A. Ending up drinking too much water since the food is so spicy
B. Of leaving too early
C. The fact that we don’t take a burp-break.
Yesterday we went to Golden Lotus. It’s an all-you-can-possibly-eat-without-puking-your-bowels-out buffet with a Far-Eastern touch. Here are a few pictures taken from the restaurant:
It cost Rs.549 per head (notice the 9).
The food wasn’t the best: Thai was bland. Chinese didn’t have Chicken Manchurian. Instead they chose Sweet and Sour Chicken Balls! The pudding in the desserts section was nothing to write home about. And most of all: what was desi food doing there?

Commodus tells all
The atmosphere made up for it though. Loved the music. And the interior designing. Special Note: The AC was connected directly to heaven.
I wouldn’t recommend going to Golden Lotus unless you are the most craziest of Thai/Chinese/Malayan cuisine fans.
Check out Windmill instead.
